What to do in Lancaster, NH or along the way!?

Taking a trip with a friend to NH while he is busy working I would like to find something to do. We are traveling from PA to NH. Anyone know any place that is a MUST stop and see or shop?
I am looking for and great discount shops, or retail outlets ( real outlets). I love anything. But I really am interested in pet supplies. Anything dog related. Good places to eat or nice places to stay that will accept pets. I am thinking of taking my dog with me on the trip. Thanks.

Lancaster is in the middle of no where. I live in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. I’ve lived in this state all my life and have always traveled up north towards Lancaster to visit family members. The whole area is of a very old style. I don’t really know how to explain it, but when I travel to northern New Hampshire, I literally feel like I’ve been transported back at least 50 years. I really like it, though. There are outlet stores in the area, but only a few small ones – you probably won’t be impressed. There’s really nothing to look forward to in Lancaster, New Hampshire. There’s not really any good, nice places to eat, and I’m not sure of pet friendly accomodations.
